A: The approach taken by KNOXX™ with the introduction of video technology into the platform gives candidates what they need most – visibility and an audience with an employer. As of the development and launching of our platform, no other “career” site on the market gives candidates opportunities to showcase themselves in such an extensive, detailed way. A resume post alone is such a small overall part of you as a candidate and just doesn’t get you far enough.
Companies are excited about the prospect of getting to see and hear candidates so that their search for the right talent is streamlined. This means your exposure to various companies will be significant and every time a company views your profile, you have essentially just been interviewed!
A: A KNOXX™ candidate profile has 4 main components.
Candidates can introduce themselves – the “be seen and heard” factor;
Share a little more about yourself to build chemistry with the viewer and;
Create a link for anything you want an employer to see (transcript, reference letters, social media profiles, certificates and portfolios of your work, etc.)
A: KNOXX™ candidate profiles can be established free of charge.
A: A KNOXX™ candidate profile has 3 options regarding privacy.
No privacy and you are openly searchable;
When this setting is chosen, your profile will not be searchable on the site. You can however, still view job postings and contact those companies you are interested in. Doing so will send a notifier to the company with a link that allows that company to access your KNOXX™ profile because you have authorized it and;
This option allows you to enter specific companies in the database that you do not want to view your profile. You will still be searchable to all other companies in the KNOXX™ system.
A: In KNOXX™, you can search and sort opportunities by virtually any category – job title, industry, keyword and even the size of a company.
A: You have 2 options built into KNOXX™ to process positions that strike your interest. The first option is to go ahead and apply for the position by clicking “submit resume” tab in the upper right corner of the position post. Doing so will immediately send a notifier (with a link to your candidate profile) to the employer for consideration. You can also type in a message introducing yourself that will be included with the inquiry.
A second option available to you is to “favorite” the position by clicking the “add to favorites” tab. This forwards a copy of the opportunity post to your candidate profile page for later review and reference. For example, you may see 8 opportunities that you find interesting. If so, favorite those 8 and begin digging into them further from your candidate profile page. As you eliminate some from consideration, simply “unfavorite” the postings that you are no longer pursuing and they are then removed from your profile page.
A: A company on KNOXX™ can also share a video promoting their organization should they wish. In addition, they can provide information on their company such as a contact person, a description of what they do as well as demographics regarding their company such as where they are located, what industry they are in and the size of their company. A link to their company website is generally also available.
A: A KNOXX™ candidate profile is kept active for 30 days from the time it is initially established.
The system will send a notification to each candidate shortly before this initial period is set to expire asking them whether or not they wish to “renew” their profile. Answering yes will keep the candidate profile active for another 30 days. Answering no or not responding to the notification will deactivate (not delete) the profile.
This feature is incorporated so that unlike other similar sites, you as an active candidate are not competing with a high number of inactive job seekers for the attention of companies using KNOXX™.
A: This section is optional and not required. However, we have built this section into KNOXX™ in order to make you more personable and relatable as a candidate. This is designed to foster chemistry between you and the viewer of your profile so that in the event you have some things in common, it may very well increase the chances that the viewer will want to reach out to you. Remember that they will also be assessing whether or not you fit well into their culture and corporate environment. Being more personable goes a long way towards helping you establish that.
A: First of all, you were in essence interviewed. That’s the beauty of having yourself featured on KNOXX™ is that it provides a platform for employers to better understand what you bring to the table as a candidate to determine if you are a likely fit for their opening. Secondly, the sooner that they determine you are not who they are looking for (if that is the case), the better for you as well. You won’t waste any of your time and energy on a company that doesn’t have interest in you. You can then quickly turn your attention to the companies that do.
A: You are not required to do either – this is what we consider a “basic” profile. Having said that, we do strongly encourage you to utilize a photo and/or a video as that is what employers are coming to the KNOXX™ site for – to truly understand what an available candidate brings to the table. Basic profiles will be at a competitive disadvantage on our site and will likely not draw as many views.
If you relate it to your own preferences, when you are looking at Facebook and Linkedin profiles, do you spend much time engaging profiles that do not have an accompanying picture? Probably not! With a KNOXX™ candidate video, this is your chance to get the ear of the company for a minute or 2 – don’t pass up such a wonderful opportunity!
A: 3 options:
For a guide on how to prepare for your video production, please click here.
A: The typical video should last between 30 and 90 seconds. Remember that these hiring executives are busy people and will not have the time or patience to watch a long video. Short and to the point is the best way to make a favorable impression.
A: We usually recommend against this. We try to avoid scripts as we want the video to be genuine, natural and spoken from the heart. Employers will respond more favorably to a video that doesn’t appear scripted or artificial. We tell KNOXX™ users to imagine them being asked the question – “Please tell me about yourself” and then proceed with a video presentation from there with that thought in mind.
A: You will use a 3rd party platform such as Youtube to sync with KNOXX™. If you don’t have an account with Youtube, simply create one and place the video in your Youtube account. Then with the video playing, just copy the URL from your internet address bar in the upper left corner of the screen and paste it into the video link field in KNOXX™. The 2 platforms will then communicate with each other automatically and convert your video to a playable file on KNOXX™.
A: No worries at all. You can choose your Youtube account setting for the video to be “unlisted”. This means that the video will not be openly searchable on Youtube but you still have the ability yourself to export the video to a site such as KNOXX™. Note: Do not select “private” for your account setting as your video will not only be unsearchable but it cannot be exported from Youtube to another site such as KNOXX™ when you have this setting engaged!
A: Go right ahead! Profiles can be modified at any time by the user.
A: Not at all. Any candidates wishing to showcase themselves here may do so.
A: We were developed, launched and are based in Wichita Kansas.
A: Great! We welcome such information as we pledge to always stay connected with our user groups so that we are building a platform that best meets the needs of both candidates and employers. We will not stay static (as other major sites have done over so many years) without responding to the concerns of our KNOXX™ users. Have a comment or a question? Please submit it here.
